926 week just so happens to fall the week of the Aurora Farmers Fair.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Main Street Aurora along with those born, raised, relocated, or newly established in Aurora are looking forward to celebrating 926.

Oscar Wilde said, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. During the recent 812 Day, sponsored by Batesville Products Inc., City of Aurora Clerk Treasurer Benny Turner said, “I’m just waiting for September 26th”.

September 26 is the use of Aurora’s well known phone prefix. Turner’s 926 concept lands on Monday, September 26th which happens to coincide with the week of the 113th Aurora Famers Fair which morphed the idea of a day into a week; “Spend the Week in the 926”.

Main Street Aurora has developed a Facebook group @spendaweekinthe926 and asks you to become a member of the group as well as submit photos and or written memories while using the hashtag #September26.

The Main Street Aurora Organization Committee’s suggestions for sharing during the week are but not limited to:

  • Monday – 926 Day (Give back to your community)
  • Tuesday- A Random Act of Kindness
  • Wednesday – What is your favorite Farmers Fair Memory?
  • Thursday – Where do you eat during the fair and in Aurora throughout the year?
  • Friday - Where do you shop in Aurora?
  • Saturday – Where do you enjoy in Aurora?
