(Aurora, Ind.) – The Aurora Public Library District has come up with a new way to pay off fines while helping the community.
In their January/February Newsletter, the library announced the “Cans for Fines” initiative.
Individuals facing late fees may bring in cans and other non-perishable food items to pay off fines during the month of February.
Each food item equals $1 in fines.
All food items will be donated to local food panties.
