Four Students from NKY Place High in Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest

(Frankfort, Ky.) – Four students from northern Kentucky schools have been announced as winners of the 2022 Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest.

Governor Andy Beshear announced Tuesday the first, second, and third-place finishers in the art contest that promotes a clean environment.

Local winners include:

  • Josslyn Heringer, 2nd place (9-11 age category), Camp Ernst Middle School, Boone County
  • Camren Tolliver, 2nd place (9-11 age category), Camp Ernst Middle School, Boone County
  • Olivia Flener, 1st place (12-14 age category), Camp Ernst Middle School, Boone County
  • Wynnie Serra, 2nd place (15-18 age category), St. Henry District High School, Kenton County

This year, there were over 300 entries across the state, with participants ranging in age from 5 to 17.

“Congratulations to all the top finishers in the 2022 Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest,” said Kentucky Transportation Secretary Jim Gray. “They not only have produced some impressive artwork. They also have done a public service by promoting the message that a ‘Litter free Kentucky’ and cleaner highways is a responsibility we all share.”

The top finishers in each of the four age divisions will receive a $100 gift card, while the second and third-place finishers will each receive a $50 gift card.

The top three finishers in each division will have their artwork framed and displayed at the Transportation Cabinet Office Building in Frankfort.
