Good news for Laurel Elementary School

(Laurel, Ind.) - Last week, the Franklin County Community School Corporation sent a notice to parents and guardians regarding a possible measles case at Laurel Elementary School.
Health officials have confirmed that the measles case mentioned in the notice came back negative.
Superintendent Dustin Gehring released the following statement:
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through this situation.
I would like to send a huge thank you to Nurse Rogers, Mr. Meyer, Mrs. Vestal, Mrs. Gutzwiller, and the rest of the LES staff for their diligence and commitment to serving their students and families during this difficult situation.
Also, I want to say thank you to the FC Health department for their partnership throughout the process. Dr. Welsh, I appreciate your willingness to work late into the night to ensure we received the most updated information!
In case you missed it, we are pleased to share that the test results for the potential measles case we communicated about earlier have come back negative."
