SEI Hoops Stars Earn IBCA All-State Honors

Several EIAC and ORVC stars received recognition.

INDIANAPOLIS – A number of southeastern Indiana high school basketball stars have earned All-State honors from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

The IBCA announced Wednesday their Supreme 15, Large School and Small School All-State Teams. In addition, 90 seniors and 90 underclass players were selected honorable mention all-state. The honorable mention is awarded without regard to school size.

Area players named Senior All-State Honorable Mention include:

  • Ryan Willoughby, South Dearborn
  • Cole Pride, Batesville
  • Ki Dyer, Greensburg
  • Josh Williams, Connersville
  • Peyton Gwin, Southwestern (Hanover)
  • Lance Nobbe, North Decatur

Ryan Willoughby finished the season as the EIAC’s leading scorer at 19.4 points per game. He also led his team in rebounds, assists, and steals.

Willoughby is joined on the senior honorable mention list by fellow EIAC stars Cole Pride, Ki Dyer and Josh Williams. Each were among the top five scorers in the conference.

It’s been a big Wednesday for Cole Pride. In addition to the honorable mention nod, he was also selected to participate at the Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60 Senior Boys Workout on Sunday at Marian University.

Ki Dyer has also had a big week. He recently announced his commitment to continue his playing career at Franklin College.

The Underclass All-State Honorable Mention list included the following area players:

  • Cam Craig, Switzerland County
  • Cole Henry, South Ripley
  • Cade Kaiser, Batesville
  • Jamison Lewis, Southwestern (Hanover)
  • Kaden Muckerheide, North Decatur

Switzerland County sophomore Cam Craig made the list despite playing just a handful of games, as his season was derailed by injury. When Craig was out on the floor, he averaged 23.3 points and 7.0 rebounds, including a 40-point performance in the opening contest of the season.

Cole Henry earned recognition by leading the ORVC in scoring (19.2) and rebounding (8.8), while Cade Kaiser had a strong sophomore season averaging 13 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
