Rising Sun Boys Win ORVC Middle School Cross Country Championship

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Rising Sun's middle school boys cross country team are conference champions. 

The Shiners took first place at the ORVC Middle School Championship on Tuesday at the Ohio County Fairgrounds. Rising Sun's top five runners placed 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 10th for 28 points. 

Logan Nicholas led the way with a time of 12:16.4. He was followed by Braysen Phillippe (12:26.4) and Jacob Bovard (12:32.0). Landon White, Ephraim Thayer, Trenton Thies, Paxton Werner, and Landon Walston also had impressive performances. 

Other members of the conference championship team include Cassius Harris, Landry McClure, Kenneth Caddell, Jameson Black, Larking Snelling, and Keaton Baston. 

The Rising Sun girls placed 3rd out of five teams. 

Avery Abney was the top performer, placing 9th with a time of 14:01.0. Laina McClure placed 10th (14:01.2) and Wren Davies was 11th (14:04.8). Each qualified for the Middle School State Championship this Saturday.
