Parris Wins Another International Medal in Olympic Tune Up

Parris is among the favorites to compete for Olympic gold at 125 kg this summer.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Mason Parris looks like he is Olympics ready.

The Lawrenceburg native cruised to a gold medal at the Polyak Imre and Varga Janos Memorial in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday evening.

Parris went 3-0 on the day including a quick win over Yusup Batirmurzaev, of Kazakhstan, in the championship match, earned a pinfall win in 34 seconds. It was his second win over Batirmurzaev in the past year.

Since last September, Parris has won four international medals.

He will compete for Team USA at the Paris Olympics and is among the favorites to compete for the gold medal at 125 kg.
