(Aurora, Ind.) - Technology allows us to work smarter, not harder.

Thanks to the City of Aurora Redevelopment Committee, the Aurora Police Department was able to purchase a drone with thermal capabilities.

The drone will aid Aurora Police during criminal investigations, surveillance, searches and rescues. Lieutenant Clint Holmstrom and Detective Vernon McBride recently attended FAA flight training and are now certified drone pilots.

"We are extremely grateful to the redevelopment committee as this project would not have been completed without their generosity. We are excited to implement this program and look forward to better serving the citizens of Aurora," reads a statement from Aurora Police.
