(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The NFL Draft is being held this week in Green Bay.

While Mason Parris' named is not expected to be called, the Lawrenceburg native is aiming to play in the NFL, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer

Parris, a University of Michigan graduate, participated in the Wolverines' Pro Day last month.

He worked out at linebacker, defensive line and full back, in addition to testing his vertical leap (33.5 inches) and bench press (24 reps at 225 lbs).

Parris hasn't played football since his senior year of high school, when he was an All-State linebacker for the Lawrenceburg Tigers. Over four years at LHS, Parris racked up 581 tackles, 61.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries, and five interceptions.

His athleticism not only shined on the gridiron but on the wrestling mat, winning three consecutive IHSAA state championships from his sophomore to senior years. At the University of Michigan, Parris became an NCAA Champion and Hodge Trophy winner. This past summer, he competed at the Paris Olympics as a member of Team USA.

Now, Parris hopes to translate his athletic and championship pedigree into a chance to play in the NFL as a potential undrafted free agent signing.
