Seven Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Versailles, Ind.) - Seven student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for September 14-19 was released on Wednesday.

South Ripley's Claire Samples and Milan's Kayleigh McIntosh are the Volleyball Players of the Week. Samples tallied 60 digs, 42 kills, seven aces, five blocks, 92 percent serve and 94 percent pass in six matches. McIntosh totaled 93 digs, 23 kills, 11 aces, two blocks, and 88 percent serve over seven matches.

The ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week is Emma South. The Switzerland County star netted eight goals in four matches. Gus Grote, of Shawe Memorial, scored four goals in three matches, earning ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week.

Jac-Cen-Del's Nautia Williams is the ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week. She carded a 40 during a nine-hole round at Hidden Acres.

The ORVC Cross Country Runners of the Week are Harper Green (Southwestern) and Carter Yelton (South Ripley). Green set a Southwestern record with a time of 19:02 at South Dearborn. Yelton ran an 18:44 at Batesville and an 18:19 at South Dearborn.
