(Richmond, Ind.) - A former Oldenburg Academy basketball star has hit a significant career mark at IU East.
Jake Johnson recorded his 1,000th career point in a 91-78 loss at Shawnee Park last Tuesday.
Johnson, a sophomore, led the Red Wolves with a game-high 26 points.
His 1,015 career points at the collegiate level have been spread across two programs. Johnson played his first year at Bethel University before landing at IU East.
This season, Johnson is IU East's second-leading scorer at 14.9 points per game. Fellow southeastern Indiana native Colt Meyer (Batesville) leads the team in scoring at 19.8 PPG.
