Competition For NKU Fall Sports Will Not Happen Before October 1

This decision was made by the Horizon League Council on Thursday.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Northern Kentucky University fans will not be able to cheer on their favorite fall sports teams until after October 1.

The Horizon League Council announced Thursday that the start of fall competition for all sports, including championship and non-championship, will be delayed.

This decision will allow campuses to focus on competition protocols while upholding the Council’s principle of safety.

Decisions to continue training and practice will be left to members’ discretion. Rescheduling non-conference contests will be determined by each school.

COVID-19 developments will continue to be monitored by the Council. There may be more future changes. The health, safety and well-being of all student-athletes, coaches, and staff will guide the decisions made by the Council.
