Six Earn MIFC Weekly Honors

(Milan, Ind.) - Six players have earned Mid-Indiana Football Conference weekly honors for Week 5 of the high school football season. 

Four players share Offensive Player of the Week honors. They are Simon Barber (North Decatur), Matthew Fields (North Decatur), Lucas Hensley (Milan) and Zane Richardson (Milan). 

Barber rushed for 151 yards and Field passed for 123 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Switzerland County. Hensley and Richardson both earned a 100 percent offensive line grade, and each had four pancake blocks. 

The Defensive Player of the Week is Kaiden Asche. The South Decatur star recorded six total tackles including two for a loss and two sacks. 

North Decatur's Landon Rohls is the Special Teams Player of the Week. Rohls kicked off seven times for 350 yards (50 yard average) and connected on four of five PATs.

  • Mason Hempfling, Switzerland County - 2 tackles, 1 assist, 1 interception, 2 TFL for -10 yds.
  • Hayden Koehne, North Decatur - 5 solo tackles, 4 assists, 1 sack
  • Grant Langferman, Milan - 3 solo tackles, 1 assists, 2.5 TFL, 1 pressure
  • Hayden Poole, Milan - 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, 1 TFL, 1 PBU
  • Zane Richardson, Milan - 2 solo tackles, 2 assists, 2 TFL
  • Masin Stroud, Switzerland County - 6 tackles
