Local Sports Report - January 5, 2022

The River Town Classic got underway Wednesday night, and EC wrestling hosted Elder for Pack the House Night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

River Town Classic - First Round

Switzerland County 45, South Dearborn 36 - The Lady Pacer erased a 10-point halftime deficit to advance to the championship game for the third consecutive year. 

  • Jessie Duvall (SC): 18 points
  • Maddie Duvall (SC): 14 points
  • Emily Elliott (SD): 9 points
  • Quinn Heizer, Natalie Rupp (SD): 6 points each

Lawrenceburg 57, Rising Sun 29 - The Lady Tigers advance to the championship for the 6th consecutive season. They have won the previous five. 

  • Lizzie Redar (LB): 13 points
  • Kirsten Cross (LB): 11 points
  • Hannah White (LB): 9 points
  • Alyssa Simpson (RS): 16 points

*South Dearborn and Rising Sun will play in the consolation game on Friday at 6:00 PM. The championship game between Lawrenceburg and Switzerland County will immediately follow. Both games will be broadcast on Eagle Country 99.3. 

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Ripley County Tournament - First Round 

Batesville 52, South Ripley 34

Jac-Cen-Del 65, Milan 53

*South Ripley and Milan will play in the consolation game on Saturday at 6:00 PM. Jac-Cen-Del and Batesville will play for the championship at approximately 7:30.
