Lawrenceburg Girls Soccer Team Gets Key to the City

Tuesday, November 19 has been declared Lawrenceburg Girls Soccer Team Day in Lawrenceburg.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg High School girls soccer team has been given a "Key to the City".

The honor comes after the Lady Tigers captured the IHSAA Class 2A Girls Soccer State Championship earlier this month, defeating Mishawaka Marian 4-1 in penalty kicks.

The state championship win was the first in program history and and the first non-football state title in school history.

Mayor Kelly Mollaun has issued a proclamation making Tuesday, November 19 Lawrenceburg Girls Soccer Team Day.

"Lawrenceburg Girls Soccer Team has brought honor to the community. The entire coaching staff, team member parents, faculty, and student body were an integral part in helping the team to victory through their unwavering support," reads a portion of the proclamation.
