(Indianapolis, IN) - The IBCA/IHSAA showcase for girls’ and boys’ basketball is set for next month. This is the second year for the girls showcase and the fifth year for the boys.

The girls showcase consists of 95 teams and the boys have 154. Some local schools and local school competitors will be playing. Notable girls’ teams are East Central, Greensburg, Jennings County, Madison, North Decatur, Shelbyville, and Waldron. For the boys, Greensburg, Hauser, Lawrenceburg, South Ripley, and Switzerland County will be in attendance.

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the IHSAA partner to make the showcase a scholastic event under the NCAA allowing Division 1 coaches to attend.

Teams typically play four games, but some teams do choose a one-day option which is just two games. Each game is a regulation 32-minute stop-clock game.

Teams are assigned pool based on competitive play, regardless of whether a team's coach selects the one-day or two-day option. Organizers also try to avoid teams playing opponents they typically play during the regular season.

The two-day girls' event begins at 9:00 a.m. June 14 with final games starting at 8:00 p.m. June 15. Games are at Hamilton Southeastern High School and Mt. Vernon High School.

The three-day boys' event begins at noon June 21 with final games starting at 4:00 p.m. June 23. Games are at Carmel High School and Westfield High School.

Both events are open to the public. Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for students (ages 6 to 17) and free for children (5 and younger).
