Harrison Girls Wrestling Wins Regional Title, Send Eight to State

Four Wildcat boys will also compete at state.

(Harrison, Oh.) - Twelve Harrison High School wrestlers are heading to state. 

Harrison played host to the OHSAA Southwest Regional Championship on Saturday. 

Not only did Harrison win the Regional team championship, but eight Lady Wildcats qualified for the State Championship. They are:

  • 105 – Chloe Dearwester (Sr., 34-0) pinned Maycee Adams (Eaton) in Championship Match (1:20)
  • 110 – Caiden Baird (So., 37-8) placed 2nd after losing by fall (3:26) to Molly Luebke (Brookville) in Championship Match.
  • 115 – Leah Willen (So., 15-0) defeated Kayla Grooms (Adena) in the Championship Match by TFL (5-0)
  • 120 – Raegan Briggs (Sr., 32-1) defeated Kaylee Ramsey (Clinton-Massie) by Fall (1:17) in the Championship Match
  • 135 – Lilly Kinsel (Sr., 38-5) was defeated by Kira Cole (Fall, 1:31) in the Championship Match
  • 140 – Rylee Dearwester (Fr., 25-12) placed 4th
  • 145 – Veronica Decaluwe (Fr., 26-16) placed 4th
  • 235 – Jessica Edwards (Sr., 38-5) placed 3rd

Four Wildcat boys wrestlers also advanced to the state tournament: Gavin Boner, Owen Dennis, Wyatt Brock, and Cohl Wandsnider.

The wrestling state tournament starts at 1 p.m. Friday at the Schottenstein Center at The Ohio State University. Every match will be streamed live by the NFHS Network and live results will be provided by Track Wrestling.
