Four Area Sports Stars Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

Student-athletes from four area schools have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC report for December 6-11 was released on Tuesday.

South Ripley’s Gracie Gunter was named the ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week. The Lady Raiders star averaged 11.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 1.6 assists over three games.

The ORVC Boys Basketball Players of the Week are Switzerland County freshman Cam Craig and Jac-Cen-Del senior Caleb Simon.

Craig averaged 24 points and 10.5 rebounds over two games. Simon put up similar numbers in two games, averaging 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Rising Sun’s Nate Graver was named the ORVC Boys Swimmer of the Week. Graver excelled in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.
