(St. Leon, Ind.) – An East Central High School girls basketball standout is set to continue her playing career at the collegiate level.

On Tuesday, the EC Athletic Department announced that Lauren Helton has committed to attend Anderson University.

Helton, a four-year varsity player, ended her high school career averaging 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Although injuries limited Helton to just 18 games over the past two season, the Lady Trojans star earned multiple awards during her high school career, including EIAC All-Conference, First Team All-County, EIAC Academic All-Conference and IBCA Top-100 Underclassman Selection.

Helton will join an Anderson Ravens team that went 0-25 this past season. The team returns seven sophomores and five juniors.

Aside from playing basketball, Helton plans to major in Athletic Training.
