(St. Leon, Ind.) - After more than two decades, East Central High School has a new boys varsity soccer head coach.
Today, the East Central Athletic Department announced the hiring of Clay Muncy.
He replaces BJ Black, who stepped down last month after leading the program for 22 years. In that span, Black led the Trojans to a record of 446-84-28 with 18 sectional titles, seven regional championships, and a state runner-up finish in 2004-05 before the state tournament was classed.
Muncy is a life-long Trojan. He is a former player and current East Central High School teacher. He has spent the last three seasons serving as an assistant under Black.
"His familiarity with the program, the boys and the community, along with his positivity, and his leadership style will provide the program sustainability in this transition to a new era," reads a statement from the athletic department.
