Batesville Star Commits to Saint Francis

(Batesville, Ind.) - One of the heroes of Batesville's Sectional 29 championship win has committed to the University of Saint Francis. 

Senior Sam Johnson announced his college decision via X on Monday night. 

The Bulldogs' star is among the top players in the EIAC. This season, he is averaging 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Johnson shoots 44 percent from the field, 38 percent from behind the arc, and 85 percent from the free throw line. 

In the sectional championship game on Saturday night, Johnson had a game-high 15 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 44-36 win over Lawrenceburg. 

Batesville will take on #4 Scottsburg at the Seymour Regional this Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
