(Bright, Ind.) – One of Dearborn County’s last remaining World War II Veterans has passed away.
James Lyttle passed away peacefully on Sunday at Ripley Crossing in Milan at the age of 96.
Lyttle was a native of Owsley County, Kentucky, but called southeastern Indiana home after marrying Eleanor “Boots” Beck on August 30, 1945, in Lawrenceburg.
He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was discharged in 1947.
Lyttle is credited with helping start the Little League and Knothole Baseball, Boy Scout Troop 44 and the Lions Club in Bright.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Dennis George Funeral Home in Cleves, Ohio. Military honors provided by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
