(Indiana, Southeast) – Women realtors are allegedly being targeted in a potential kidnapping scam.

The Southeastern Indiana Board of Realtors says four women realtors have been contacted by an unknown person who is stating “they have a warrant for your arrest and need to know your exact location.”

Individuals are urged not to give out personal information.

Anyone who is contacted by such a caller should contact their local law enforcement agency.

Additionally, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office has been notified by residents that have received phone calls by someone claiming to be a deputy using the number 812-537-8700.

The scammers are telling people that they have 24 hours to report to the jail as a way to scam people out of money.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office says they would never call and request payment over the phone to take care of a warrant.
