(Aurora, Ind.) – Women Armed and Ready are poised for a big year in 2022.

The organization provides education, preparedness, confidence, and emotional support to all who feel the need and desire to protect themselves and their families.

In October, Women Armed and Ready held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new training facility along State Road 56 in Aurora.

WAR receive a $20,000 grant from Friends of the NRA to help build the facility. In a release last week, WAR said additional fundraising will be necessary to help build classrooms and equipment housing. Other plans include a gravel parking lot and a cover for the shooting line.

Starting in January, all new WAR members will be required to take an 8-hour NRA Basic Handgun Course. The course prepares all new members for safety and handling of their firearm before beginning WAR training.

The organization will also be adding beginner and intermediate training sessions that will be separate from more seasoned members.

The new year will also bring a new awards system. This system will allow members to test their skills and be awarded with patches, certificates, pins and more.
