Mosquitoes will remain active as long as temperatures remain above 60 degrees.
(Ohio County, Ind.) - West Nile virus is present in mosquitoes in ever southeastern Indiana county.
The Ohio County Health Department says mosquito samples captured earlier this month have tested positive for West Nile. The Indiana State Department of Health said last week the same was revealed to be true in Franklin County.
As of Monday, the state health department now lists all southeastern Indiana counties as having mosquito samples testing positive for WNV.
There are no human WNV cases in our area.
Although we are nearing the end of mosquito season, the health department says there is still some bug activity when temperatures get above 60 degrees.
Citizens are advised to take the usual precaution, including using bug spray and wearing long sleeves.
