By Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative, news release

The clean-up is scheduled for May 31.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - The next Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative (DCALI) roadside clean-up will be on Saturday, May 31 on State Line Hill. The May 3 clean-up was cancelled because of weather.

Volunteers will meet at 8:30 at Sugar Ridge Golf Club for instructions and supplies. Please park on the grass outside the gate to the parking lot.

The portion of State Line Road between the 2 entrances to Augusta Drive will be closed from 9 a.m.-12 noon to ensure the safety of volunteers. Augusta Drive will be the detour. Please drive carefully through this residential area. Sheriff's deputies will be on site for traffic safety.

For updates on the May 31 clean-up, please visit the DCALI Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DearbornCountyAntiLitterInitiative.

If possible, please comment or send a message if interested in volunteering so there will be enough supplies.

This is the 10th year for the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative. In 2024, a record number of volunteers participated. These events are great opportunities for families and for student community-service requirements. Please note that minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The most recent clean-up, held May 10 at York Ridge Hill, was a success. Volunteers finished work several hours earlier than allotted.

Other DCALI clean-ups scheduled are June 14, Cole Lane; Sept. 13, Georgetown Rd. Updates and details will be posted at https://www.facebook.com/DearbornCountyAntiLitterInitiative.

The DCALI thanks Bright Fire & EMS, the Miller-York Fire Department, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dearborn County Highway Department for their continued assistance.
