Volunteers in Medicine of Dearborn, Ohio, and Switzerland Counties to Cease Operations

The organization started in 2017 to provide access to quality medical care to eligible residents of the three counties.

(Southeast Indiana) - Volunteers In Medicine of Dearborn, Ohio, and Switzerland Counties (VIMDOS) will cease operations on February 5.

VIMDOS was established in 2017 to provide access to quality medical care to eligible residents of Dearborn, Ohio, and Switzerland Counties.

With the emergence of other community resources, such as St. Elizabeth and Harmony Health, the VIMDOS Board of Directors believes it has done what it can to highlight the need for access to high-quality healthcare services in the region - and that it is time to step aside.

In a press release, a VIMDOS spokesperson said their work "simply would have not been possible without the work of its numerous volunteers and benefactors."

VIMDOS is not accepting new patients and no appointments for existing patients will be scheduled after February 5. If you are an existing patient and have not already been contacted, please contact the VIMDOS office at 812.926.0744 to make arrangements to establish a relationship with a new provider.
