Vevay Police Officer Loses Job Following OWI Arrest

(Vevay, Ind.) – A Vevay Police officer has been relieved of his duties.

Chris Pellant, who was sworn in as a Vevay officer on June 9, was arrested on Thursday evening and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Official Misconduct.

According to the Vevay Police Department, Pellant was on-duty at the time it was brought to the attention of other officers that he may be intoxicated. 

Officers with Vevay Police Department responded immediately and allegedly found Pellant with a blood alcohol content higher than the legal limit.

He was placed under arrest and lodged in Switzerland County Jail.

The Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate.

No further information has been released at this time.
