(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - This Veterans Day marks 100 years since the end of World War One – also known as Armistice Day.

The Lawrenceburg American Legion held its Veterans Day ceremony at the Dearborn County War Memorial on Sunday. Others meet at Heritage Pointe in Dillsboro for a ceremony highlighted by a speech from Darrell Hansel.
On Monday, area veterans will gather in Batesville. A city park on South Street is being renamed to Veterans Park during a ceremony scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
The government's business will be on hold Monday for observance of Veterans Day. Federal, state and local government offices will be closed since the actual holiday happened Sunday, November 11. That means no mail deliveries or trash collections. Banks will be closed Monday, too.
