Versailles Fire Rescue Responded to 500+ Emergency Calls in 2021

The department recently received a $40,000 grant to replace breathing apparatus.

(Versailles, Ind.) – It was a busy 2021 for Versailles Fire Rescue.

Twenty-seven volunteer firefighters spent the year responding to hundreds of emergency calls and completing nine different certification programs. 

Chief Sieverding says Versailles Fire Rescue responded to 557 emergency calls in 2021. That comes out to approximately 1.5 emergencies per day. 

“Our community is blessed with 27 dedicated volunteers, and I could not be prouder of them,” said Chief Sieverding.

Versailles Fire Rescue also ended 2021 by being awarded a $40,000 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation towards the replacement of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus.
