(Franklin County, Ind.) - Franklin County Sheriff's deputies were conducting routine patrols in the New Trenton area on Sunday afternoon when they observed a traffic violation.

Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Trail Blazer, but the driver failed to comply and fled the scene.

A vehicle pursuit followed along U.S. 52 and continued into Dearborn County. After a four mile pursuit, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The driver, identified as Diane Duffy, was safely removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident. The 49-year-old from Cleves was allegedly found in possession of controlled substances. She was booked on preliminary charges related to drug possession and resisting law enforcement.
