(Holton, Ind.) - U.S. 50 in Holton - the town decimated by a suspected tornado on Friday - will be closed to most traffic on Saturday, Indiana State Police said.

Duke Energy crews are working to replace the dozens of utility poles which were snapped like twigs, leaving a mess of power lines down across the small village.

Troopers said semis and media are the will be the only vehicular traffic permitted through Holton.

Regular westbound traffic on U.S. 50 will be diverted north on Michigan Road to Hopewell Road then west on Hopewell Road then back south on County Road 900W where they will be able to continue west on U.S.50.

Eastbound traffic will be sent north on County Road 900W to Hopewell Road then east on Hopewell Road to Michigan Road where they will be able to pick up U.S. 50 and continue east.

The state police discouraged any unneccessary travel through the area, including people coming to only view the damage.
