The Growing Laurel Food Pantry will have its grand opening on September 9.

(Laurel, Ind.) - The United Way of Franklin and Ripley Counties is supporting a new food pantry through a generous donation.
On Friday, the nonprofit organization announced a $1,000 donation to the Growing Laurel Food Pantry, which will be opening on Saturday, September 9.
The Growing Laurel Food Pantry will be located at the Laurel Community Center at 218 N. Clay Street.
Community members are invited to the Grand Opening and Community Garden Celebration on September 9 from 9 AM to noon.
This season Growing Laurel has harvest the produce below so far.
40lbs of potatoes were dug up last week and put in the Laurel Library for the community!
35 lbs of cucumbers!
3lbs of green beans.
2lbs of strawberries.
1lb of eggplant.
30lbs of tomatoes!
This is all free produce that anyone can come and pick. Stop by and pick some for your family!
