Two Priests Will Lead All Four Dearborn Co. Catholic Parishes

The new configuration goes into effect July 7.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – This summer, the four Catholic Parishes of Dearborn County will be under the pastoral care of two priests in solidum.

Fr Jonathan Meyer and Fr Daniel Mahan will usher in the new configuration of leadership, ministry, and evangelization.

The announcement was made at weekend Masses on May 1 and May 2.

Fr Randy Summers, pastor of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, and Fr Ben Syberg, pastor of St. Lawrence and St. Mary’s, will begin new assignments at parishes outside the county.

Mahan, the current pastor of St. Barnabas in Indianapolis, will join Meyer as the pastors at St. Teresa, St. Lawrence, St. Mary and All Saints Parish.

“God has been very faithful to all of us in Dearborn County for over 197 years since the founding of the first parish in 1824,” said Meyer. “My heart is full of gratitude to have served in this county for the past 7 years and 2 months at All Saints Parish. Now God is inviting all of us, myself included, with Fr. Dan Mahan, into a new chapter of our history.  God’s providence will not fail us.”

The change in leadership is effective beginning July 7.
