(Hamilton County, Oh.) - Two people were taken into custody following a police pursuit in Hamilton County.

Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffery reports that the vehicle pursuit was initiated on U.S. 50 near Kilby Road on Thursday around 3:42 p.m.

Just prior to the pursuit, Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to North Bend Auto Repair on E. Harrison Avenue for a report of an automobile theft. Deputies on the scene learned that the vehicle that was taken was equipped with a GPS tracking device and was relaying real time information to deputies on the scene.

The suspect vehicle pulling a trailer with a red ATV on it was observed at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Kilby Road. When a traffic stop was attempted, the suspect vehicle failed to stop and continued, eventually turning on Dry Fork Road and then onto Harrison Avenue.

The driver, identified as Perry Bruce, 40, then led the pursuit onto eastbound Interstate 74 to southbound I-275.

Bruce would cross state lines entering Indiana. At that point, Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies took over chasing Bruce onto State Line Road to Sand Run Road.

As Bruce re-entered Ohio, his vehicle came to a rest in the 5000 block of Rivercrest Drive. Bruce and his passenger, Kyah Kruegger, 19, fled on foot.

Both were located and taken into custody.

According to the Sheriff McGuffery, the pursuit was approximately 20 miles in length and lasted about 25 minutes.

Bruce is charged with three counts of Theft (Level 4 Felony), one count of Receiving Stolen Property (Level 4 Felony), and one county of Failure to Comply with the Signal or Order of an Officer (Level 4 Felony).

Krueger is facing Burglary (Level 4 Felony) and Obstructing Official Business (Misdemeanor).

Both are held in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
