Truck Rollover Crash Injures Two In Ripley Co.

The accident occurred on U.S. 421 near the intersection of County Road 100 N.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – Two people were injured after a truck rolled over in Ripley County.

According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle crash happened on May 17 around 6:20 p.m.

Deputies say Michael A. Carf, of Patriot, was traveling southbound on U.S. 421 when he lost control of a 2004 Ford work truck near the intersection of County Road 100 N. According to the police report, Carf tried to over-correct which caused his vehicle to go off the road way and flip three times before coming to a rest in a field.

Carf was ejected for the vehicle and sustained a dislocated shoulder. He was transported to Margaret Mary Health for treatment.

His passenger, Andrew D. Sullivan, of Holton, was also injured and transported to Margaret Mary Health. Sullivan was later transported to UC Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.

Following the accident, Carf told deputies that a passenger car traveling northbound crossed the double yellow line causing him to run off the roadway. A witness contradicted his story, saying “he did not see any other vehicle’s during the crash.”

The crash remains under investigation.
