A medical helicopter fly-in will be a part of the event at the Dillsboro Elementary School parking lot.
(Dillsboro, Ind.) - The Dillsboro Homecoming Festival got underway Wednesday evening.
Some local emergency responders are already looking ahead to an event at the festival on Saturday. In addition to the usual rides, live music, and frog jumping contest, this year’s festival will feature a program called Touch a Truck.
Michael Addison with the Dillsboro Emergency Unit says Touch a Truck will give kids and adults the opportunity to sit in a fire truck, police car, or ambulance on Saturday, May 19 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Dillsboro Elementary School. An Air Methods medical helicopter will be landing there at 1:00.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone in the community to meet some EMTs, Firemen and Police Officers. Dillsboro EMS, Dillsboro Fire, Lawrenceburg Police Department and Dearborn County Sheriff Department will be present,” said Addison.
Touch a Truck is free to attend for all.
