WASHINGTON - A physician and entrepreneur is throwing his hat in the ring to represent Indiana’s 9th District.
On Tuesday, Timothy Peck, MD, officially announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana’s 9th District.
Peck is trained as an Emergency Physician. During the Boston Marathon bombings, he served as the Chief Resident of the Emergency Department in the Harvard Medical School system, treating dozens of victims. He then founded health care technology companies to enhance patient care based on his experiences in the Emergency Department.
"I invite people of all political affiliations – Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, and Democrats – to join this campaign. Together, let's demonstrate the power of finding common ground to better serve the people of this district and state," said Peck.
District 9 is made up of 16 counties, including Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland.
The district is currently represented by Erin Houchin. She was first elected in 2022.
