Three Men Arrested In Connection To NKY Thefts

(Boone County, Ky.) – Three man have been charged in connection with a string of thefts in Boone County.

Jermaine D. Brown, 18, and Paul A. Allen Jr., 21, both of Cincinnati and Matthew S. Rivera-Fernandez, 19 of Florence, were arrested between Wednesday and Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies say the three men targeted southern Boone County with a series of thefts that started in February, including several stolen vehicles. Some of the vehicles were found in Cincinnati and Boone County.  

According to a news release, the three men would specifically target unlocked vehicles and steal contents from them. 

Police say Jermaine Brown also deposited stolen checks into his back account, in addition to using his rewards account when buying clothes or shoes from retailers with stolen credit cards.

The following charges were filed Thursday:

Jermaine Brown: Five (5) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Auto (Class C Felony), one (1) count of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Firearm (Class D Felony), two (2) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking from Vehicle $500 or More (Class D Felony) and two (2) counts of Forgery 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

Paul Allen Jr.,: Six (6) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Auto (Class C Felony), one (1) count of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Firearm (Class D Felony), three (3) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking from Vehicle $500 or More (Class D Felony) and two (2) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking from Vehicle Under $500 (Class A Misdemeanor).

Matthew Rivera-Fernandez: Three (3) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Auto – Complicity (Class C Felony), one (1) count of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Firearm – Complicity (Class D Felony), two (2) counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking from Vehicle Under $500 (Class A Misdemeanor) and one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking from Vehicle $500 or More (Class D Felony).
