(Franklin County, Ind.) – Two teenagers’ burglary cases have been waived to adult court in Franklin County.

Korey Stapleton, 18, of Harrison, and Zachary Eberhart, 18, of Miamisburg, Ohio, are each charged with Burglary While Armed with a Deadly Weapon (level 2 felony) for an August 29, 2017 home burglary.

Two accomplices also face charges. Jordan D. Rich, 19, is charged with Burglary (level 4 felony). Taylor L. Everetts, 19, faces a charge of Theft (level 6 felony).

Stapleton and Eberhart are 18 now, but each were only 17 when they and Rich broke into a Franklin County home where a 10-year-old girl was home alone, according to a probable cause affidavit. The child hid while the intruders swiped a gun cabinet containing several firearms, a plastic gun case, a wedding ring, and an iPhone.

Everetts allegedly admitted to driving the three males to the burglary scene. She told police she knew guns they brought back to the car had been stolen.

Detectives were able to tie Stapleton to the burglary because he posted photos of himself with the stolen firearms on Facebook stating that he had “hit a lick,” a slang phrase for stealing.

Miamisburg Police recovered one of the stolen firearms from Franklin County as they investigated Rich.

Stapleton was brought from Ohio to Indiana to face the charges last week. He and Eberhart each face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the level 2 felony.

Rich was booked into the Franklin County Jail back in May.
