Switzerland Co. Sheriff's Office Warning About Publishers Clearing House Scams (Duplicate)

If you are to receive one of these calls, you are instructed to call your local law enforcement agency.

(Switzerland County, Ind.) – The Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about recent scams that have been affecting residents.

One of the scams that resurface from time to time is the “Publishers Clearing House” scam. These scam calls have been coming to many residents.

“The complexity, the technology, and trickery these people use never ceases to amaze me so it's very easy to fall victim,” said Sheriff Brian Morton.

As always, if you are contacted by somebody requesting your personal information, bank information, etc. Do not release that information over the phone. If you are to receive one of these calls, you are instructed to call your local law enforcement agency.

Since this is a “Publishers Clearing House” scam, the balance every day provides information regarding some tips of what to look for if you’re ever contacted by someone claiming to be with the organization.
