Suspects On The Loose After Shootout In Batesville

Batesville Police are seeking any information they can get about the suspects.

(Batesville, Ind.) – Batesville Police say a shootout happened in a restaurant parking lot late Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the LaRosa’s parking lot around 10:40 p.m. after receiving a 911 call that several gunshots had been fired.

According to a news release, two Hispanic males pulled into the parking lot in a black Buick passenger car with tinted windows, where they exchanged shots with two white males that were on foot.

Witnesses reported that approximately 20 shots were fired before all the suspects fled from the scene.

Police say several vehicles parked in the area were struck by bullets, including a semi-trailer hauling propane tanks. A window on the Quality Inn was also struck.  

No injuries were reported. 

As for the suspects, the Buick was last seen southbound on Bedel Boulevard, heading towards State Road 46.

The two suspects on foot ran in the direction of the Quality Inn. They were described as white males in their 20’s, approximately 5’8” with a medium build. One was said to be wearing black shorts and a black shirt, while the other was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a white ball cap.
