Sunman Rural Fire Department Starting Cadet Fire Program

The program is for individuals ages 15 to 18 that have passed 8th grade and/or are still in high school.

(Sunman, Ind.) – A new program will allow area youth to see what it is like to be a firefighter or emergency service professional.

The Sunman Rural Fire Department is starting a Fire Cadet Program.

The program is open to individuals ages 15 to 18 that have successfully completed the eighth grade and/or are still in high school. All participants must have approval from a parent or guardian to apply. 

Cadets will participate in various activities associated with community service, fire safety, emergency first aid, and other services provided by the Sunman Rural Fire Department.

All prospective candidates for the cadet program must complete a standard application for admission into the program.
