Sunman Man Injured In State Road 48 Crash

The accident happened Sunday afternoon near Possum Ridge Road

(Aurora, Ind.) - A Sunman man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Aurora over the weekend. 

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash on State Road 48 at Possum Ridge Road around 3:41 p.m. on Sunday. 

Deputies say Lonnie Hickey, of Sunman, was traveling eastbound on State Road 48 when a vehicle driven by Samuel Gabbard, of Aurora, failed to yield at a stop sign on Possum Ridge Road, causing the two vehicles to collide. 

The impact caused Hickey's vehicle to roll several times. Hickey was airlifted to UC Medical Center with unknown injuries. 

The accident remains under investigation.
