Sunman 2nd Graders Raise $1,500

(Sunman, Ind.) - Students at Sunman Elementary School have raised more than $1,500 to be donated to the American Red Cross.

 

Teacher Sandy Greenwood’s second graders organized a fundraiser earlier this month following the March 2 tornado in Holton, Indiana. People who donated to the Red Cross at the school would receive a packet of flower seeds.

 

More than 150 packs of seeds were given out to donors from Sunman, Greendale, Lawrenceburg, and elsewhere, Greenwood said.

 

“Our class wants to thank all the people who donated,” said Greenwood.

 

The money will be given over to the local American Red Cross when a representative visits the students next week.
