(Switzerland County, Ind.) - A portion of State Road 156 will close next week in Switzerland County.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, State Road 156 will close on or after Tuesday, March 14 for a slide repair project. The project site is located one mile north of Wade Hill Road near Florence and west of Put Road near Patriot.
The closure is scheduled to run through late April while the contractor completes work to stabalize the roadway and hillside with soil nails and shotcrete. Guardrail installation will follow.
The official detour route uses State Road 56 from Vevay to Rising Sun. State Road 250 will be open for access to the Patriot area.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
