The bridge is located over Fisk Creek, just south of Patriot.

(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials conferred with contractor representatives at Seymour District offices this week to coordinate operations for a $976,250 bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 156 south of Patriot in Switzerland County.

Force Construction of Columbus, INDOT’s contractor, plans to mobile June 11 at the 3-span S.R. 156 structure over Fisk Creek at its confluence with the Ohio River—located .97 miles south of S.R. 250.

New concrete bridge deck end segments will be poured. The remaining 125-feet of decking will be patched and the entire driving surface protected with a new 3/8-inch polymeric overlay. Necessary repairs are scheduled to be made before crews paint the 143-foot-long steel beam structure. This project also includes new pavement approach slabs.

Temporary traffic signals at either end of the S.R. 156 Fisk Creek bridge will control single-lane traffic while the contractor works on half-of-the-bridge-at-a-time.

S.R. 156’s traffic count near Wade Hill Road is 1,400 vehicles per day.
