The school corporation last year announced a pay increase for certified teachers.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Non-teacher personnel at South Dearborn schools will receive a raise next year.
The school board recently voted 7-0 to approve a three percent raise for all classified staff, administrators, and central office personnel.
Non-teacher personnel received a six percent raise last year with no raise coming the year prior, according to Superintendent Jeff Lows.
When asked if a similar raise would be coming for certified teachers, Lows mentioned that the new two-year, collective bargaining agreement has a built-in pay increase for teachers.
"The budget underpins everything that we do here and it's important we are able to add in a fiscal, responsible manor to make sure we can offer the raises we want to," said Lows. "Our staff works very hard, and everyone serves a purpose here."
The school board also voted 7-0 to approve a motion to allow Lows permission to hire personnel as needed throughout June, July and August.
