South Dearborn Dollars For Scholars Celebrates 30 Years, $1 Million In Scholarships

Eighteen SDHS graduates currently in college or trade school will be recognized on Nov. 23.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Eighteen graduates of South Dearborn High School will benefit from the Dollars for Scholars scholarship program.

The South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars chapter will be awarding $10,500 in Continuing Education Scholarships to 18 SDHS graduates currently in college or trade school.

Thanks to hundreds of volunteers and donors, the following students will receive scholarships:

  • Riley Ampt – Anderson University
  • Stacey Armah – Northern Kentucky University
  • Dylan Beach – University of Indianapolis
  • Katelyn Brown – IUPUI
  • Nathan Cantrell – University of Cincinnati
  • Hannah Halbig – Thomas More
  • Megan Heeke – University of Cincinnati
  • Jordan Ingle – Ball State University
  • Taylor Ingle – Indiana University Southeast
  • Kelsie Jackson – Indiana University
  • Leah Kemper – Indiana University
  • Makenzie Teke – University of Indianapolis
  • Kelsey Terrell – Coastal Carolina
  • Brett Womble – Purdue
  • Jennifer Wullenweber – Indiana University East Richmond
  • Leah Wright – Ivy Teach (Collier Holtegel Memorial Scholarship, $500)
  • Zach Otto – University of Cincinnati (Initiative Scholarship, $500)
  • Brooke Rohe – IUPUI (It Pays To Stay Scholarship, $2,000)

With these scholarships, the South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars program has eclipsed the $1 million in scholarships awarded. The South Dearborn chapter was founded in 1991. 

The scholarship recipients will be recognized by South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars and scholarship sponsors on Tuesday, November 23 during the boys varsity basketball contest against Rising Sun.

The Dollars for Scholars reception will be held the same evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the SDHS cafeteria. All past recipients, past SDDFS Board Members and SDDFS scholarship sponsors are invited to help celebrate 30 years and $1 million in scholarships.
