South Dearborn Business Students Take Home 24 Medals at District Leadership Conference

Next up is the State Leadership Conference in March.

(Aurora, Ind.) – The South Dearborn High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) team performed well at the BPA District 12 Leadership Conference last Friday.

Of the 13 students who competed, seven brought home nine first place plaques. In total, the group earned 24 medals.

  • Taylor Compton placed 1st in both Health Administration Procedures and Medical Coding
  • Callie Davidson placed 1st in Intermediate Word Processing and 2nd in Basic Office
  • Sophie Ferguson placed 4th in Interview Skills
  • Cain Hopkins placed 1st in Personal Financial Management
  • Luka Jones placed 2nd in Advanced Desktop Publishing and 4th in Extemporaneous Speech
  • Dasha Martin placed 1st in Health Research Presentation
  • Malia Martin placed 9th in Banking and Finance
  • Olivia Mclane participated in the Interview Skills Competition
  • Carson Osborne placed 2nd in Health Research Presentation and 2nd in Health Administration Procedures
  • Isabel Pearson placed 1st in Legal Office Procedures and 4th in Business Law and Ethics
  • Zander Schaefer placed 2nd in Banking and Finance and 3rd in Fundamental Accounting
  • Emily Steigerwald placed 1st in both Advanced Interview Skills and Individual Presentation
  • Gracie Vanwinkle placed 1st in Human Resource Management

South Dearborn’s BPA team will next compete at the BPA State Leadership Conference in Indianapolis on March 9-11.

They are led by Mrs. Kelly Pettit.
